Kwanzaa - kindergarten/PK2
|Posted by [email protected] on December 18, 2019 at 10:40 AM|
This week Kindergarten is learning about Kwanzaa. We have read many books to understand how people celebrate this holiday. We also watched a video on the traditions of Kwanzaa. We talked about the traditions, food, and the 7 candles people light to celebrate. We incorporated the candles into a finger-painting art project. With every candle we painted we learned its meaning. Our focus in math has remained learning about shapes, patterns, and simple addition. We are combining topics on science and health and understanding where and why do animals hibernate and how do people survive in colder climates. This will lead in to discussions on how you can stay safe in the winter time when it comes to staying warm and not catching the cold or flu!
